It’s almost summer so its time to leave our crazy eating habits behind and commit to working out frequently. A healthy lifestyle will go a long way in helping you get and stay in shape. Now you’re probably wondering how this adds to the suave persona. Well being suave has to do with your elegance and charm, and what better place to start than your very own body. Physical activity and health is important not only for the body but also for mental health.
While it’s essential for guys to indulge in healthy living practices, regardless of age, gender or physical fitness level, it’s especially important to begin these good habits early on in life. For many individuals, starting to live like this at an early age sets a tone for the future and it becomes much easier to maintain these habits and stay healthy throughout your life. Sounds good? We think so. However, it’s a lot easier said than done, but hey, they say ‘nothing worth having comes easy’, right?
There are a few healthy living tips that young men everywhere should consider following in order to be healthy in their youth and as they age.
It’s easy to let work get in the way of your fitness goals but we want to help you along this journey that’s why we put this article together to help you incorporate this into your busy lifestyle.
It’s a lot easier to participate in physical activity while you’re in school than it is after you’ve graduated and have begun to take on a job and other responsibilities. While we’re all still trying to hustle for that paper, wouldn’t you rather spend that on a Villa in Santorini than a hospital? We know we would, that’s why it’s crucial that you continue to make regular exercise a part of your life.
Choose Something Over Nothing
You should be aiming to get in a workout 3 to 5 times a week. You don’t need long to get a complete, effective workout. And some exercises are virtually always better than none. Even 15 minutes can make a difference!
Remember, doing some sort of exercise is better than none. Make smarter choices, take the stairs instead of the lift, walk the long way instead of the shortcut. An effective program done frequently can do wonders to both the body and mind. Try and squeeze in fitness wherever you are using bodyweight exercises or with the help of apps with pre-programmed short workouts.
Eat natural foods
Packaged and processed foods are often full of sugar, salt, unhealthy fats, artificial additives, and calories. Limit the fake stuff and eat a wide variety of:
- Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Whole-grain products, such as brown rice and whole-grain breads
- Fiber-rich foods, such as beans and leafy greens
- Lean cuts of meat and poultry, such as skinless chicken breast and lean ground beef
- Fish, such as salmon and tuna.
Cut down drinking and smoking to a minimum
Many young men smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol. While engaging in either of these practices in moderation has become common throughout the world, they are still not considered to be healthy living practices. Abstain from drinking and smoking if at all possible. At the very least, you’ll be healthier if you do not smoke or drink to excess at any time. Because these habits are also quite expensive to maintain, you’ll find that you’ll be much better able to save money.
It’s easy to be pressured or tempted into pushing yourself beyond your fitness limit, remember that this is not a competition and you need to take things at your own pace while finding comfortable yet challenging boundaries to help push you. The goal is to find a good routine that you can maintain. So get fit and stay fit.
